“Be ready when Life throws struggles and difficulties at you, it will make you a stronger individual. Survive, Dream and Keep Believing!”
Ayame Villarroel describes herself as a mom, wife, daughter and a ‘maker’ who values her family and is willing to take the risk just to follow her passion.
Ayame is the creative visionary behind the business: ‘Blooms And Paper’ – the gorgeous, handcrafted paper flower backdrops that have been taking Lower Mainland events by storm!
“I was planning my daughter’s 1st birthday party and I had decided that I really would love to have a flower wall backdrop. I searched for a company here in Vancouver but didn’t find what I was looking for so I decided to make the flower wall myself!”
After the party, friends and family members began to ask Ayame if she would take orders for flower sets or even to rent the flower wall itself. Blooms And Paper – the business – was born!
“In the past, I have tried multiple businesses – from jewelry making, to clothing, to network marketing. Now I can say that I have finally found my true passion!”
Today, Blooms And Paper creates and provides custom paper flowers and flower walls for event rentals. Ayame tells us that every flower you see on the elaborate walls has been created with ‘pure love and passion’. “Making the paper flowers makes me feel relaxed and gives me a sense of joy. It also gives me a sense of satisfaction when clients send me messages of gratitude, describing how our flowers made their event perfect. I love that through my creations, I can touch people’s lives and somehow become part of their special day. I always add a touch of elegance to every flower that I create… I add pearls, bling, and even hand paint the flower’s centre – every piece is intricately made.”
The Future is Floral
5 years from now, I’d love to see the company grow to have even more products to offer. I hope that when customers look for a Flower Wall or an amazing backdrop – they will first think of Blooms and Paper, and that we have partnered with some of the amazing vendors in the Décor industry. I hope to be able to provide jobs to others and help them out.
For now, I am currently working on a few new Flower Walls. One wall in particular will be a surprise to everyone! I am targeting to finish them by the Summer.
Highlights of the Journey
Oh! There have been quite a few, actually! The very first wedding show that we were a part of was the Bling Bridal Show. It was an amazing experience for us. Also, the Dare to Dream Soiree, hosted by the lovely Genicca Whitney was where our Purple Flower Wall was featured. We also enjoyed the VCBB’s 2nd Anniversary Bash and I was also featured in Fresh.
Of course, it was an honor to be a part of I Like Her Style Vancouver Magazine’s premiere issue and Influencer Launch party!
Well… I must have my wallet, my lipstick and my cellphone! And, of course… my babies!
I am completely inspired by all the Bad Ass Lady/Mom Bosses out there who choose to follow their dreams and goals in spite of any difficulties that life could possibly throw at them.
That whatever struggles and chaos life throws at us, we should just keep on going. We could fall and stumble, but we have to stand up and move forward and to always think positive no matter what. ‘Just keep on swimming’ and believing!
There are a lot of amazing women and businesses in the Lower Mainland! I have made connections and collaborated with a lot of them. To be surrounded with like-minded individuals and have that sense of community and support is just amazing!
