I believe that the universe lines up opportunities for you to meet people who will be of great value to your life if you are open to it and aware. I was so grateful my journey had lead me to meet Andria Racich, the founder of The Innerview, just a few months ago at a local networking event. I was immediately drawn to her kindness and genuine spirit, which in turn intrigued me to learn more about her business. With what seemed to be a lot of similarities in our values and purpose in life, I was thrilled when Andria invited me to experience my very own Innerview. Below I (Jody) share about my experience with I Like Her Style Vancouver Co-Founder Kyla.

Kyla: What were your thoughts going into ‘The Innerview’?
Jody: I had so many thoughts running through my head as I drove to meet Andria. My initial thought was of pure excitement to try something different and to have a completely new experience. My next thought was curiosity, trying to imagine what the experience will be like and what questions would be asked. The was immediately followed by nervousness and fear about what may be uncovered – would there be an old wound re-surfaced that I thought was healed, would I share something that would make me look bad, would I be speechless? My moments of self-doubt were quickly reversed to joy as I was reminded how honored I felt to have someone want to hear my story! I couldn’t wait to get there at that point!
Kyla: So once you arrived, what did you see?
Jody: I was warmly greeted by the lovely Andria and embraced with a big hug. Me being a huge ‘hugger’ that was the perfect welcome for me – we were on the same page. Andria had set up a nice comfy chair with pillows and a glass of water by my side. The only other thing in the room besides some décor items was a camera set up to film me. It was an environment that I was certainly unfamiliar with, but Andria made it very inviting and comfortable for me as she has calming energy about her. So there I sat with her sitting across from me, camera in focus, and my hour session was to begin.
Kyla: How did The Innerview begin?
Jody: Andria began with a great visualizing exercise to get me calm, concentrated, reflective, and into an overall perfect state of mind to start on an experience that would require some inner self-reflection in the process of telling my story.
Kyla: Did it feel similar to a therapy session?
Jody: Not at all, that is what I loved about it. Andria is not there to give advice or guide you; she is simply there to ask questions that provoke you to share your story. And she patiently listens. She allows you to expand on moments that seem to strike a cord with you and she has the perfect questions to continue the conversation when you are ready to move on. Her ability to connect is remarkable.
Kyla: What types of questions did she ask?
Jody: She asked me some questions I had never been asked before! We started with my childhood and walked our way through my entire journey of life up until now. Throughout the Innerview I was definitely asked questions that really made me think. I had to dig deep into parts of my soul that hadn’t been touched in a while, and it was nice. Having those moments of being stumped and not having the answers roll off the tongue were the most significant for me, especially watching those moments back on video. There’s a sense of healing that comes over you when you get through moments of discomfort and come out with some sort of realization.
Kyla: What was it like watching yourself in your Innerview afterwards in the video Andria provided you with?
Jody: Honestly, it was special. It’s amazing how something so simple – yourself in front of a camera telling your story and shedding emotion so authentically – can be so powerful. At first, it was uncomfortable to watch. I do not like being in front of the camera talking about myself, I enjoy hearing other’s tell their story. I enjoy sharing bits of my story in hopes of empowering others to feel comfortable sharing their voice and knowing they aren’t alone. After all, that is a huge motivation behind the brand I Like Her Style Vancouver. But to watch myself in the spotlight was hard at first and by about mid-video I was uplifted and reminded of who I really am. I was connected to my inner self and was able to feel sure of who I am and all the good, bad, and ugly that make me uniquely me. I felt proud of myself, which to be perfectly honest I hadn’t felt in quite some time.
Kyla: Who would you recommend The Innerview to?
Jody: EVERYONE!!! I can see great value in this experience for absolutely everyone. In this busy fast-paced life we all live in, the opportunity to shut off, sit still, and dig deep into your inner self in order to tell your story is priceless. Andria offers a variety of packages to suit your needs and your Innerview can be catered to what you are currently living in your present moment – marriage, new business, travel, health conditions, etc. For myself, I chose to just do an overall Innerview about my life – see where the conversation organically leads in my story. What a wonderful experience that I highly recommend it! Big thanks and hugs to the wonderful Andria xoxo
I Like Her Style Vancouver
Andria Racich, the founder of The Innerview, has been interested in peoples’ stories all her life. Since she was a little girl she has enjoyed hearing tales from family, friends, and strangers. Her ability to truly listen with compassion, intuition and patience has embarked her on a journey to record the stories of others. Like all of our own, her story is still unfolding. Where it has lead her thus far is living in Vancouver, BC, marrying her best friend, and adopting her dog Werner (aka Venne). With a passion for nature and life, she enjoys her free time with her green thumb, hiking local trails, visiting farmers markets, cooking with local seasonal vegetables, and surrounding herself with her loved ones.
More about the Innerview Experience
An Innerview is where you and I sit down and you talk about your life. I want to hear your journey. Where has it brought you to presently? Were there love, resentment, passions, dreams, and sorrows?
The Innerview, focuses on recording a persons life, or an aspect of their life, their relationship towards people, work, life, religion, money, family, or health. For the moments of sadness add tenderness to the joys; failures add sweetness to triumphs and difficulties add zest to our accomplishments. We all come from different backgrounds and we all have a story to share. It is your present and past that I wish to hear.
The Innerview has a variety of packages for you to choose from. It takes approximately an hour, during which I will be asking you a series of interesting questions, depending which part of your life you are wanting to focus on. Each session is recorded and will be given to you for safekeeping.
Your privacy is of the utmost importance to me. What is shared between the two of us is strictly for you and whomever you wish to share it with. The recording will be provided to you via a USB key, within, two days after our session. The footage will be raw and natural as it was meant to be seen. It is those brief moments and how we emotionally own them that reflect our genuine authentic self.
